The Magical Eagle and the Lonely Boy

"I am in the box!" shouted Tommy, "come and find me!"

But no one came.

Poor Tommy sat squat in the box wait ting for the lid to fly open and his papa pull him out and wrap him up in his arms and say, "That's my boy." Tommy grew sleepy and before he knew in his head drooped as he curled up and tucked himself away....

Next thing Tommy knew he was floating far away out to a place where sun shone all day through the midnight sky.  Yet Tommy was a brave boy. His papa had taught him well. His papa had said, "Son, no matter where you travel you are never far from home." So Tommy knew, without even knowing, no matter how far he was or where he was, he wasn't far from home.

Picking the box up and packing it away under his arm, Tommy looked around to see what he could see and guess what? Do you know what he could see? Tommy could see the Golden Eagle.
Now this wasn't any old eagle, this was a Magical Eagle! A magical eagle who would take you wherever you wanted to go. A magical eagle who was invisible to the eyes of man, but showed himself to children and hungry babies who wanted to be fed.

Tommy was so excited. He had heard about the mythical magical eagle but to see one....well that was a special handshake moment indeed. Remembering all the goodness his papa had taught him, Tommy bowed his head and offered a hand to say, "How do you do Mr Magical Eagle?"

Mr Magical Eagle flapped his wings and flicked his ears, now this was exciting. A new boy had come to visit. Mr Magical Eagle was happy. Life was lonely when no one came to play and these days all the boys and girls stayed indoors and played on their hand held gadgets and waved their arms in front of the big black box in the corner. But here was a real live boy. A real live boy, who knew how to play and carried a box under his arm, "I know let's play hide and seek" said Mr Magical Eagle and without further ado he sprung into the box and soon fell fast asleep.

Poor Tommy, it was cold and he was hungry. He knew he wasn't far from home, he knew his papa was just a heartbeat away, so with a rumbling tummy he bade farewell to the magical eagle and trotted off home.

So remember boys and girls, no matter where you are, no matter how far you travel you are only a heartbeat away from the ones you love.
